About Me

Here’s the skinny

I started my career as an intern for a local production company in Fargo, ND. Originally I was helping out on video shoots as a grip worker. I’d run around setting up lights, adjusting them an inch this way, an inch that way, open and closing barn doors until a job opening presented itself. I was then immersed into a jack of all trades position that had me doing graphic design, branding, web design, ecommerce, motion work, video editing and all around production work.

I ground me teeth on anything I could for 3 years, until the economy crashed and the studio let everyone go.

I took my knowledge and passion into my own hands and opened Mike Biewer Design, a jack of all trades company that does all of the things listed above. One day I’ll be photo assisting and the next I’ll be designing a logo.

To make a long story short…I have been running Mike Biewer Design for 2 years with the idea that by taking the time to understand the client, product/service and the messages trying to be conveyed, great design and story telling falls into place.

On a personal note, I live in Portland, OR with my wife and 2 cats. I do my best to drink every beer in brewvana, but I also enjoy hiking, reading, metal detecting, watching movies, eating, playing video games and just exploring. I also teach at the Art Institute of Portland 2 nights a week and find that a very rewarding experience that helps me grow as a designer every class period.

I have worked with plenty of people and here is what my clients have to say about me!
